These terms apply when you use the Gander app ("Gander", "we", "us"). Gander is run by Gander Tour Company Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17377454), registered office 35 Path Head, Blaydon, NE21 4SR. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms. Please also read our Privacy Policy.
Your account
• Keep your sign-in details secure; you are responsible for activity on your account.
• Give accurate information, including your date of birth, which we use to keep age-restricted offers from under-18s.
Using Gander responsibly
When using Gander, including the tour Q&A, you must not:
• post or send racist, sexist, homophobic or otherwise hateful or discriminatory content, or content that praises or promotes violence, terrorism or atrocities;
• threaten, harass or abuse anyone;
• send sexually explicit content;
• use Gander to plan or encourage anything illegal, including damaging, defacing or removing anything from historic sites;
• try to misuse, overload or interfere with the app or its AI guide, or access anyone else's account.
Out on a tour
Tours take place on public streets and sites. Stay aware of your surroundings and traffic, follow local laws and site rules, respect opening times and private property, and only go where it is safe to do so. You take part at your own risk.
The AI guide
Answers in the tour Q&A are generated by AI from our tour research. We work to keep them accurate, but they can be incomplete or wrong, so please don't rely on them for safety, opening times, prices or other practical decisions.
Moderation, suspension and reporting
• Messages that appear abusive, hateful or harmful are automatically flagged, kept with your account, and may be reviewed by our team.
• If you break these terms we may warn you, or suspend or close your account, with or without notice.
• Where content may be a criminal offence, such as threats, harassment, or stirring up racial or religious hatred, we may report it to the police or other authorities and share the relevant messages and account information with them, as the law allows or requires.
Offers from partners
Partner offers are provided by the venues themselves and are subject to their own terms and availability. Age-restricted offers are only shown to adults.
Bookings
If you book a table or an experience through Gander, your booking is with the venue or provider, and their own terms apply. We pass on your details so they can confirm your booking and contact you about it. Some suggestions open other booking sites such as GetYourGuide or Viator, whose own terms apply.
Tips
Tours are free to use. If you enjoyed one, you can leave an optional tip to support Gander. A tip is a voluntary gift: it doesn't unlock anything or buy a service. Tips are paid through the App Store or Google Play, under their terms, and any refund request is handled by them in line with their policies and your legal rights.
Our content
Tour audio, scripts, images and maps are owned by Gander or our licensors. They are for your personal use on tours and must not be copied or redistributed.
Liability
We provide Gander "as is" and can't guarantee it will always be available or error-free. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have by law, or our liability for anything that cannot be excluded by law.
Changes and law
If we change these terms materially we will ask you to accept the new version in the app. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in another country, you keep any protections your local law gives you. If these terms are translated, the English version applies where they differ.
